Sea Foam Cleansing!

My 2007 Chevy Colorado 5 cylinder has been having idle problems.  I did a quick search online a bout this and found that my model has these type of issues and it is very important to keep up proper maintenance.  This process that I am going to show in this tutorial is not going to be the answer to your idle issues but it just might help.

Items you will need:

1) 1 16oz can of Sea Foam

2) 1 small funnel

3) 10 mil wrench
4) flat head screwdriver

Lets get started:
To start off you will need to measure out 1/3 of the bottle in some sort of cup.  (1/3 of 16oz is about 5oz)

To locate the PCV valve you will need to remove the intake manifold.  There are two 10mm bolts and two clamps that will need loosening to properly remove the manifold.

Next take the flat head screw driver and loosen the clamp on both sides of the intake manifold.

Then remove the two bolts on the left side of the manifold.

Now you can lift te manifold out of its position and place it to the side.
You can see the Rubber tube witch covers the PCV valve.

Here is a closer look.  Now all you need to do is pull up and remove this piece.

Now start your engine and pour 1/3 of the Sea Foam bottle directly into the PCV valve.

Than take another 1/3 of the bottle and poor this directly into your crank case.

Than take the rest of the bottle and poor it directly into your gas tank.

Now turn off the engine and let it sit for 15 minutes.
This will allow you time to put everything back together.

Pay a visit to their site and take a read while you let your car sit for 15 minutes.

Now when you go to start up your car you wil see white smoke coming out of your exhaust, don't worry this is normal and it shows that the treatment is doing it's work lubricating and cleaning your engine.  So you will want to let it idle for a good 2-5 minutes.

Thank you for checking out my service tutorial and I hope it helped!
